Titel: Traveller under a starlit sky
Composer: Mathias Wehr
Duration: 5.40 Min.
Grade: 3
Instrumentation: Wind Band
PROGRAM NOTES:"Where you are not, there is happiness"
One of the most important quotes from the Romantic era. The optimization of well-being and the path of life appears to be the top priority of our time. But no path in life is straight, none can be comprehensively secured. The first slow part of the composition deals with the desire to find the way to inner peace (from bar 1). The subsequent Allegro section describes the departure (from bar 37) of the wanderer. But fate (from bar 82) has a few surprises in store and keeps the seeker on the wrong track. "Traveller under a starlit sky" is a symphonic poem dealing with the search for contentment and happiness. Commissioned by "BundesNaturTon-Orchester" in Germany.
