TIMEFLOW was commissioned by the Musikverein Neuhausen im Enzkreis e.V. to mark its 150th anniversary. The world premiere took place on May 10, 2026, under the theme: “In the Flow of Time”

In the evening, when the day was over
and the work was done,
a goldsmith, quietly and softly,
set off on his way home.
High in the sky, stars shine—
never created by human hands.
Such adornments that, from afar,
enchantingly captivate the gaze.
Neuhausen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) lay isolated from all traffic until the construction of the Nagold Railway in 1870. The goldsmiths, also known as “Rassler,” had to walk the route along the rivers to Pforzheim and back every day—about 2.5 hours each way, and usually even longer on the return trip. They set out at 4 a.m. and arrived home at 11 p.m. The origin of the name “Rassler” remains unclear to this day. However, many of these goldsmith commuters carried a set of tableware with them. After a day’s work, they would sling the tableware over their shoulders and begin the journey home. As they walked, the cutlery would jingle and rattle, making an unmistakable clatter.
