„Millennial Echoes" was commissioned by Musikkapelle Rottendorf e.V. to mark the village's 1000-year celebration in 2025. The work delves deep into the history of the small village. A piece of local history, but also a kind of journey through time through the events, adventures, and challenges of a beautiful village near Würzburg in
Germany. The composition begins in the year 1025. In the Middle Ages, the first wooden houses were built (bar 1). The founding of the village was celebrated with music
and dancing (bar 14). But things weren't always as peaceful as in the early years. The Swedes were on the advance (bar 36). The Thirty Years' War killed almost a
third of all citizens (bar 72), making times difficult for all surviving people (bar 105). But hope for better times began to grow in the hearts of the residents (bar 113). In
1648, the long-awaited end of the war finally came with the peace (bar 118). The houses were rebuilt with renewed vigor and vitality, and the entire village continued
to develop steadily, right up to the present day. 1,000 years of Rottendorf! That must be celebrated... (bar 136)
