BIOGRAPHY
Mathias Wehr (*1984) ist freischaffender Dirigent und Komponist. Seine Kompositionen, darunter Pflichtwerke für internationale Blasorchester und Brass Band Wettbewerbe, wie zum Beispiel für die Championship Division der Deutschen Brass Band Meisterschaft, werden beim Musikverlag Frank in der Schweiz und bei seinem eigenen Musik-Label Mathias Wehr Music publiziert und weltweit zur Aufführung gebracht. So zählen nicht nur Österreich und die Schweiz, sondern auch die USA und Südkorea zu seinen Reisezielen. Mathias Wehr begann sein Musikstudium mit 16 Jahren an der Musikhochschule Nürnberg und fügte anschließend Blasorchesterleitung an der Universität Augsburg hinzu. Mit 23 Jahren gewann er den offiziellen Titel "European Conductor of the Year 2008" bei den 4. European Conductors Championship in Norwegen. Nur ein Jahr später gewann er den Silbernen-Taktstock beim World Music Conductors Contest in Holland. Als Komponist und Chefdirigent verschiedener Orchester erhielt Mathias Wehr bereits international zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen. Aber auch für sein regional musikalisches Engagement bekam er bereits die Kulturpreise der Städte Schwabach, Fürth und Forchheim verliehen. Als Juror und Gastdirigent arbeitet er mit Blasorchestern und Brass Bands in ganz Europa zusammen.
Mathias Wehr (*1984) is a freelance conductor and composer. His compositions, including testpieces for international wind band and brass band competitions, such as for the Championship Division of the German Brass Band Championship, are published by Musikverlag Frank in Switzerland and by his own music label Mathias Wehr Music and performed worldwide. Thus, not only Austria and Switzerland, but also the USA and South Korea are among his destinations. Mathias Wehr began his music studies at the age of 16 at the Musikhochschule Nuremberg and then added wind orchestra conducting at the University of Augsburg. At 23, he won the official title of "European Conductor of the Year 2008" at the 4th European Conductors Championship in Norway. Just one year later, he won the Silver Baton at the World Music Conductors Contest in Holland. As a composer and chief conductor of various orchestras, Mathias Wehr has already received numerous prizes and awards internationally. He has also been awarded the cultural prizes of the cities of Schwabach, Fürth and Forchheim for his regional musical commitment. As a juror and guest conductor, he works with wind orchestras and brass bands throughout Europe.
